01 · PRIVATE HOMES

Whole-home protection
from scale build-up.

Hard water can leave deposits on heating elements, taps, hot-water equipment and pipework. WEHA treats water physically, without salt or chemical additives.

ENGINEERING CASE 01OILFIELD · ANONYMISED FIELD TRIAL

Two severe deposit problems.
Results from one field trial.

HEATER & WATER-MIXING PUMPS
SECTOROilfield operationEQUIPMENTHeater and pumpsSOURCEField trial report
INITIAL SITUATION

A mineral-rich process medium containing polymer and oil components caused severe mixed deposits in heat-transfer equipment, pumps, pipes and filters.

PROJECT APPROACH

Separately configured WEHA systems were installed externally on the common inlet lines. The pipes did not need to be opened.

OBSERVATIONS RECORDED IN THIS FIELD TRIAL
  • no visible new hard deposits on heater tubes after five months
  • existing deposits were reported to loosen
  • three pumps operated for six months without a major overhaul
  • filter-cleaning intervals were extended
RESULTS FROM THIS FIELD TRIAL

The report describes reduced deposit problems and longer maintenance intervals for these two applications. The observations relate only to the tested equipment and operating conditions.
